When it comes to ethics, we at Ward’s Country Store embody on doing the right thing even when no one is watching. As the core value, Integrity, was engrained into both the founders of Ward’s Country Store during their time in the military, they too enforce this same standard for both the team members and them. After all, how can you do the right thing when your boss isn’t being truthful or is doing something unethical? This ranges from ensuring employees are paid what they deserve, having a no tolerance for theft or falsified accounting, ensuring teams are prepared on how to respond to an ethical dilemma and so on. This consists of ensuring that all members within the organization understand their rights as whistleblowers as well their protection when reporting such unethical acts. Another way that Ward’s Country Store embodies good ethics is by respecting the environment. After all, we want to ensure the Earth is left in a good state for our future generations! We here can proudly say that 30% of our current products are from recyclable items. We also have made strides in ways to help reduce our paper imprint like offering virtual receipts, printing double sided for our invoicing and eventually going all digital! Lastly, our plan to install solar panels can help utilize the sun that is heavily available within the city of Albuquerque. There are several ways that we can continue helping make a difference and its up to not just the leaders but the team members. After all, the front-line workers are essential to the organization and their inputs as well our customers are important!
